Electric Lamp Rewiring and Restoration 

Ron has been rewiring lamps for almost forty years.  So long that he can no longer remember what sparked his interest in the first place.  In any event, lighting became one of his passions.  Over the years he’s rewired and restored thousands of table and floor lamps, chandeliers, and outdoor fixtures, both for resale and as a service to his customers.   

A lamp with a frayed cord or an erratic switch is a house fire waiting to happen.  It should be unplugged immediately and properly repaired.  If you can’t do it yourself, we’ll be more than happy to do it for you.  Free estimates, of course.  Other than simple cord replacement, we do not work on fluorescent and halogen fixtures.

Vintage lighting often needs a makeover to restore it to its original beauty.  There are times, with many early bronze lamps, for example, when polishing the metal might detract from its esthetic patina and its value.  In these cases we will advise you as such and recommend cleaning only. 
 

 

Lamp Shades 

We have showroom devoted to decorator lamp shades with a wide variety of parchment, silk, mica and glass shades in a range of historical styles, from Victorian to modern.  We will be glad to assist you in your selection but recommend you bring the lamp with you, as different shades often require minor adjustments to the lamp.  We can often, though not always, meet specific needs through special ordering.
