Just around the block from us is a superbly-managed, 18,000 square-foot antiques center filled to the rafters with a tremendous variety of antiques and collectibles. From the day I first set foot in Sanford, John and Jenks, the owners, have been most helpful and generous with their time answering scores of my questions and offering sound advice.
Squirrels Nest Antiques
This husband and wife team sells antiques at the Sanford Antique Mall, but they are also expert furniture refinishers. As refinishing is something I've done myself for over thirty years, I have exceedingly high standards for the finished product. You might even say I'm really, really picky. These folks meet my standards and do it at affordable rates.
Wild Bill's Auction House
Wild Bill is an auctioneer and a real character. But I repeat myself. Located out the shop's backdoor, his gallery reminds me of the best upstate New York country auction houses. Efficiently managed with a folksy sense of humor, merchandise is well-displayed and honestly represented.
Dana Atkin's Photography Studio
A very talented photographer, Dana's new studio is located right across the street from me. The banner shot of the shop's exterior and many other of this website's photographs were taken by Dana.
